🇫🇷 🇻🇦 Saint Leonard of Noblac Feast: 6 November

Priest ( ✝️ 559 Anno Domini A.D.) Feast: 6 November

A chief courtier for King Clovis 👑 of the Franks, Leonard followed Clovis in accepting Christianity. It is said that the king himself was his sponsor. Though Leonard was offered a bishopric ♗ - politically advantageous given Clovis' recent conversion - he chose to leave the court. He became a disciple of the bishop Saint Remigius ( spiritual adviser to saintly Queen Clotilde ) and grew in holiness.

Leonard 's prayers were credited with obtaining an heir for the royal household 🤴 👶 👸 , and the grateful Clovis gave him lands. Leonard shared this land with the needy, particularly with prisoners whom he had helped to free. According to a 𝘷𝘪𝘵𝘢 (a biography) written in the 11th century, Leonard obtained from King Clovis the right to personally liberate prisoners he found worthy of release. #Catholic https://youtu.be/TStxB5G9_LI

Legends say that prisoners who invoked Leonard often saw their chains breaking and afterwards brought their bonds to him as votive offerings. He succeeded in the difficult work of showing the imprisoned that the captivity of sin ⛓️ 👿 was worse than any temporal captivity. He also was able to gain pardon and release for many of them, and established a monastery ⛪ for the many disciples his labors produced. Leonard also became a missionary to his fellow Franks who had not yet converted. He is honored as the patron saint of prisoners. #Catholic https://youtu.be/954kZab8NRQ
