In defense of Boehner, perhaps he doesn't own a dictionary and is unaware of the negative connotations of the term"Big Brother" i.e. that it's is used in George Orwell's dystopian novel "1984" to describe the police state:
Additionally, perhaps Boehner was unaware that the term "Gestapo" is typically viewed as derogatory. It's widely viewed that Churchill lost his 1945 re-election campaign when called his Labour opponents Gestapo lovers, which they interpreted as an insult:
Laski's biographers, and many others over the years, claimed that the "Gestapo" remark contributed to the election of a majority Labour Government and Churchill's loss of the Premiership.
Another minor detail, apparently Boehner can't count and says there are 465 members of Congress
There are 435 voting members in US House of Representatives:
and each state, as you recall from high school civics class, has two senators, so Boehner's numbers literally don't add up. No wonder Congress can't pass a balanced budget.
Mark Levin , per usual hits the nail on the head in his 1/24/14 show:
On Friday's Mark Levin Show: Speaker Boehner goes on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and comes across as a fool. Rather than using the opportunity to promote conservatism, Boehner trashes the Tea Party. Apparently Boehner has forgotten that he wouldn't even be Speaker if it wasn't for the Tea Party putting the Republicans back in a House majority.
