William Ayers scheduled to speak @ Millersville University

William Ayers is slated to speak at Millersville University on 19 March 2009. More whitewashing from the local PBS affiliate, WITF:

Ayers helped lead a radical group responsible for several domestic bombings in the 1960s, but Millersville officials have defended his right to speak about his work more recently in urban education. The lecture is being funded by privately raised dollars.

WITF does mention bombings, but fails to mention the murders (minor detail).

Disingenuous victim blaming from Millersville University:

It is regrettable that those individuals who oppose his visit have focused their criticisms on his infamous past rather than the vastly more important issue of how to close educational achievement gaps between urban students and their non-urban peers.

Uhm...if you don't want uppity people pointing out the terrorist background of your invited speakers, then why don't you invite non-terrorists to speak? Presumably, it is possible to find an expert speaker on the given topic who is not terrorist. More disingenuousness:

Free inquiry and free speech are critical elements of academic freedom, which thoughtful Americans from our founding fathers to U.S. presidents and Supreme Court justices, more than 200 years later, have judged essential to preparing students to be productive citizens.

Everyone is entitled to free speech, except, of course, "regrettable" people who have silly hang-ups about hosting mass murdering terrorists as honored guests on campus. Even more disingenuousness:

In my message to the campus community I emphasized that the opportunity to hear divergent voices is neither a liberal nor conservative political perspective

I suspect that one could count the number of invited conservative speakers on zero fingers. Millersville offers a market place of ideas monopolized by murderous Marxists.

In case anyone wishes to send the Millersville U. president, Dr. Francine McNairy, an email: MU.President@millersville.edu

UPDATE

San Francisco's police officers union accused Bill Ayers and his wife Bernadine Dohrn in a 1970 bombing that killed San Francisco police officer Sgt. Brian McDonnell.

  2. There is actually no evidence at all linking the WUO to the bombing at the SF police headquarters. They weren't the only people being 'radical' and using bombs...
If they wanted to accuse Bill and co with this incidence perhaps they should have done so when it happened, not over 30 years later. But The WUO took every precaution to make sure no one was ever hurt, and that's why no one was... they released communiques before the bombs went off, so it this case does not fit with how they did things... of course the gov't could have forced this officer to sacrifice his life in order to catch them?

  3. Oh and Millersville is in a conservative county and a majority of the folks that attend there are conservative and in fact there are a number of conservative speakers brought to campus. Of course, they probably wouldn't be considered conservative enough if they don't like your Sarah Palin carrying a gun to threaten people for votes that she doesn't deserve.

  5. William Ayers is an evil, unrepentant terrorist. The only remorse that he has expressed is that he did not murder more people.

Ayers has admitted bombing the U.S. Capitol building and the Pentagon, and his wife was sent to prison for failing to cooperate in solving the robbery of a Brink's armored car in which two police were killed. Far from remorse, Ayers told The New York Times, in September 2001, that he "wished he could have done more." Ayers only avoided conviction when the evidence against him turned out to be contained in illegally obtained wiretaps by the FBI. He was, in fact, guilty as sin

He dedicated a book to Sirhan Sirhan , RFK’s assassin.

Ayers wanted to start a civil war and murder 25 million Americans:

“Well, what is going to happen to those people that we can’t re educate, that are die-hard capitalists?” And the reply was that they’d have to be eliminated and when I pursued this further, they estimated that they’d have to eliminate 25 million people in these re education centers. And when I say eliminate, I mean kill 25 million people.

That’s immaterial. Wright State is located in thoroughly red GOP territory, but that doesn’t prevent the leftist administration from exclusively inviting leftwing militants, such as Angela Davis to as honored guest lecturers. The majority of the student body doesn’t get to vote on whom the leftists invite to campus, & neither does the general population. This censorship from the far left is consistent across American college campuses:

Remember when the Right had a near-monopoly on censorship? If so, you must be in your sixties, or older. Now the champions of censorship are mostly on the left. And they are thickest on the ground in our colleges and universities. Since the late 1980s, what should be the most open, debate-driven, and tolerant sector of society has been in thrall to the diversity and political correctness that now form the aggressive secular religion of America’s elites

Of course, they probably wouldn't be considered conservative enough

I wrote to Millersville University’s president & asked her to delineate the conservative speakers that she has invited to campus. I’m asking you to do the same. Provide actual data, versus vague hand waving arguments. Who are these alleged conservatives that have been invited to speak at Millersville? I want actual names.

if they don't like your Sarah Palin carrying a gun to threaten people for votes that she doesn't deserve.

Palin supports the US Bill of Rights. She supports the 2nd Amendment which defends the 1st Amendment. Liberal Fascists don’t support any part of the Consitution. The only people who engaged in voter intimidation at the polls in 2008 were Obama supporters during the Democratic primary:

Already in Iowa, the Obama campaign was breaking the rules, busing in supporters from neighboring states to vote illegally in the first contest in the primaries and physically intimidating Hillary supporters

& Black Panther Obama supporters intimidated voters during the general election.
