Blackwell Endorses Rob Portman for OH Sen

Ken Blackwell Endorses Rob

Last week former Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell announced his endorsement of Rob Portman for the United States Senate.

"Rob Portman is a principled and experienced leader with a solid conservative record," said Blackwell. "He has been a strong voice for sound fiscal policy, and we need him in the U.S. Senate in these tumultuous economic times. I have worked with Rob over the years, and I know he will be ready to lead on day one."

from an email, the majority, but not the totality, of Buckeye Republicans support Portman:

Rob has secured an impressive number of endorsements from Republican elected officials and key Republican Party grassroots leaders. After meeting with Ohio House and Senate Republicans as a group, and with many individually, an overwhelming 91% of the Republican members of the General Assembly have endorsed his candidacy. He has also received the support of all the Republicans in the Ohio Congressional delegation and more than three quarters of Republican county chairs and State Central Committee members.

Portman Gets ABC Support

The Associated Builders and Contractors of Ohio, the largest construction association devoted to the merit shop contractor, also endorsed Rob Portman for United States Senate last week. The ABC of Ohio organization consists of all three chapters in Ohio and is part of the 79 chapters in a nationwide federation consisting of more than 25,000 member companies across the United States.

"ABC's endorsement of Rob Portman was an easy decision," stated ABC of Ohio President Braden Black. "ABC is dedicated to creating a business climate of merit, allowing contractors to run their businesses on the fundamental principles framed by our nation's founding fathers. We know that Rob Portman will work hard in the United States Senate to create jobs and economic growth in Ohio and throughout the country."
