Bush is Fascist /sarc

According to the online computer algorithm, The Political Compass , Bush is currently the most fascist Western leader, although he is slightly less fascist than Hitler. McCain is listed, of course, as more fascist than Obama. I'm not certain how more accurate this algorithm is at prediction than the one that decided I'm 89% male. Regardless, this test decided that I'm a middle of road RINO.

This website also provides an Iconochasms test, that dredges up inconvenient facts about and and or quotations from respected personages, left, right, and center. Question 2 reminds people that Al Gore was not always the paragon of environmental virtue:

Who in 1997 championed the privatisation of California's National Oil Reserve, and the subsequent drilling by Occidental that resulted in serious environmental damage, destruction to a sacred Indian burial ground and a windfall for his family trust's Occidental stocks? (Occidental also put a pipeline through the Colombian rain forest.)

This question, of course, begs the question: "When is an Indian burial ground not sacred?" The author of the test implies in Question 10 that it is reasonable to equate Abu Graib and Guantanamo Bay with WWII Auschwitz and Manchuria. With the following question:

15. Immediately following the German invasion of the USSR, which future US President said the following ?

If we see that Germany is winning, we ought to help Russia, and if Russia is winning we ought to help Germany, and that way we let them kill as many as possible.

Harry Truman simply appears to express the Machiavellian, Realpolitik view that Kissinger espoused with respect to the Iran v Iraq war, although, I suspect, that the test's author wished to imply Truman was almost as Fascist as Bushitler.

Digg!
