[ Mary ] soon after was persuaded to take over management of another refuge for "fallen women" in Angers . She approached her charges with compassion & charity: "Love them, console & strengthen these wounded sheep; make them happy, very happy, by God's grace ; this is your duty." She added: "It is better not to preach too much; it only wearies them." Eventually she founded a new congregation, the Institute of Our Lady of Charity of the Good Shepherd
Mary urged her sisters to approach troubled women & girls with the tenderness that Veronica showed Christ :jesus: when she wiped his brow. As Mother Euphrasia , she saw her order grow & spread across the globe "Having brought to birth all our young sisters in the Cross," she wrote, "I love them more than life itself. And the root of that love is in God & in the knowledge of my own unworthiness."
