Drogo, or Druon , was born at Epinoy in Artois , France . His father died before his birth, & his mother died while giving birth to him. Kindly relatives took him in. When Drogo was about 10, he learned of the circumstances surrounding his mother's death, & for the next several years he struggled with a deep sense of guilt

Drogo turned to prayer 
& fasting, begging God from the depths of his heart 
Around the age of 18, he began to make penitential pilgrimages. He went to Rome 
9 times but settled in France , at Sebourg near Valenciennes , where he became a shepherd 
& at last began to find some solace.
At this time, the locals began to remark on Drogo 's evident holiness. Some reported that he manifested the power to bilocate: he was in the fields with his sheep even as he was seen attending Mass 
After his many labors, Drogo developed a severe hernia in his torso that made manual labor impossible, but this did not still his life of prayer. He moved to a small room next to the local church , where he spent all his time in praise & adoration. Once, fire ravaged the church building 
Afterward, he was found alive among the ashes of his cell.

Drogo died around 1189 A.D. He is invoked by expectant mothers, orphans, the depressed, & those suffering from hernias [& coffee drinkers 
] .
