Saints Who Suffered for a Tenet of the Faith
According to legend, Anastasia was the daughter of a pagan father & a Christian mother, named Fausta. Fausta & Anastasia practiced their faith in secret 
disguising themselves 
to visit imprisoned Christians 
a practice which Anastasia continued after her mother's death.

Anastasia was imprisoned in her home after her husband discovered she was a Christian 
. Publius died 
Anastasia made her Christianity known publicly & was soon arrested & brought to trial 
The prefect offered her an easy out: "Give me all your riches 
then you will be a true Christian; I will let you go & worship whom you please, & your poverty will please your God." Anastasia, however, refused.#Catholic

Set adrift on a leaky ship 
she survived. Discovered again by her enemies, Anastasia was burned to death 
& entered into eternal life. After she died, her heart 
was brought to the governor, who found the name of Jesus written upon it.Anastasia 's name is part of the Roman Canon ( Eucharistic 
Prayer I). She has been honored ever since her death, & for many years her feast was commemorated on Christmas Day 
Loving Father, grant us the courage to refuse 
any compromise with evil
