David Brooks @nytimes thinks #4th of July overrated

David Brooks, the counter-revolutionary Tory, complains in his New York Times article,

The Follower Problemabout uppity peasants who possess ideas above their stations in life:



Then there is our fervent devotion to equality, to the notion that all people are equal and deserve equal recognition and respect. It’s hard in this frame of mind to define and celebrate greatness, to hold up others who are immeasurably superior to ourselves.



However, at least Brooks was somewhat original in attacking the American Revolution from the Right. Most of his media cohorts attacked the 4th of July from the Left. To them & all the American hating hippies having LSD flashbacks, all I have to say is:
