It is somewhat ironic that the ASU Sun Devils won't give Obama a degree, since both his political friends and foes often refer to him as "Lightbringer" aka "Lucifer".

Boo hiss! Arizona State might back track & give Obama an honorary degree, after all.

I guess I won't be sending a check to the ASU alumni association, after all.

Bah...the latest info is that ASU won't give Obama an honorary degree, but will name a scholarship in his honor. Still no check from me to their alumni association.

Oh no! You're an ASU alum? This OSU Beaver has a problem with that! :) But my pastor is from Tempe, so I guess it's OK. For now.
ReplyDeleteBut kudos to ASU. I don't think OSU would've had the brass to make that decision. They would've bowed before him like he was Saudi royalty and given him an armload of PhDs.
I suppose Arizona State has a love/hate relationship with Republicans. They have a lab and a scholarship named after Goldwater & named their law school after Sandra Day O'Connor. Conversely, they've named their journalism school after Walter Cronkite.
