Saints Who Worked with Their Hands 👷♂️
According to tradition, Antoninus was a Christian stonemason ⚒️ who worked in Aribazus, Syria, where many of the locals were still engaged in the worship of idols. One day, Antoninus took it upon himself to go to the temple and publicly denounce their false worship. Afterward, he left the town and went to live in silence 🤫 and simplicity with the hermit Theotinus.

Two years later, Antoninus decided to return to his hometown, although Theotinus warned against it 🙅♂️. Once again, Antoninus saw the townsfolk bowing down 🙇♂️ before the graven images. In his anger 😡 , he went to the temple, pulled down the statues, and smashed them on the ground. The people were incensed and drove him away 🏃♂️ 💨 ✊

Antoninus next went to Apamea, where the bishop ♗ , recognizing his talent, asked him to build a church ⛪ 🏗️ . But here, too, he experienced opposition from the pagan residents. A mob gathered to protest Antoninus' work, and in their fury, they attacked the stonemason and unalived him ☠️ . He was only about twenty at the time.
