"It would be a great happiness for me to die like Maria Goretti ." Born in 1931 A.D. near Bergamo , Italy , Pierina came from a family of 9 children. Confirmed at the age of 6, she began to attend daily Mass 
rising at 5 AM 
to do so.

Pierina entered a trade school & learned tailoring 
Later on, with her father unable to work, she took a job at a textile factory 
& helped support the family. It is said she never complained.

Pierina also joined the Third Order Franciscans . She taught as a catechist 
& helped raise financial support for seminarians & foreign missions. Every day before work she would attend Mass & receive Holy Communion 
praying the rosary on her walk to church & workplace 
One day as Pierina returned home, a young man attacked her in an isolated place & attempted to force himself upon her. She fought back, & was struck down with a rock 
Her family found her unconscious on the road, her rosary in her hand. She died 2 days later, & is honored as a martyr of purity 
Compassionate Father, your daughter Blessed Pierina Morosini was willing to die to defend her chastity; through her prayers, grant us renewed love for the virtue of purity
