"In war, truth is the first casualty"

Sara Ackerman "The Lieutenant's Nurse" is a historical novel about the bombing of Pearl Harbor & alleged deceit on both sides. Ironically, it opens with a quote that might be misattributed to Greek playwright Aeschylus:

"In war, truth is the first casualty"

The Quote Investigator gives the actual quote as:

Aeschylus (Fragm. Incert, xi.):—
“God is not averse to deceit in a just cause.”

I disagree with Putin 's revanchist policies in Ukraine - but I'm equally skeptical about whatever the Biden regime is doing in the region

Sara Ackerman "The Lieutenant's Nurse" wrote a historical novel about the bombing of Pearl Harbor. She punctuates her novel with quotes from nonfiction sources.

She selectively quoted from a General George C. Marshall message to imply that DC's policy was to direct the US military to stand down & allow the Japanese to attack us & doesn't quote the rest of the message

"If hostilities cannot, repeat cannot, be avoided the United States desires that Japan commit the first overt act."

Sara Ackerman "The Lieutenant's Nurse" wrote a historical novel about the bombing of Pearl Harbor. She hypothesized that a Russian vessel ☭ sighted the Japanese fleet 🇯🇵🚢 but didn't alert anyone because Russia wanted to drag the USA into WWII

A 1983 Christian Science Monitor corroborates the story

However, a 2007 US Naval War College article dismisses this allegation as a "conspiracy theory" .... so it must be true, then 🤭
