Legend of the Rabbit 🐰
The little rabbit has no weapons with which to defend himself...Therefore, he is a symbol of Easter because he represents man, who has placed his hope in Christ who died to save him pic.twitter.com/t9d3f1wblW
Legend of the Dogwood Tree
— sgabig (@sgabig) February 23, 2021
The dogwood was mighty like the oak..its wood was used to make the cross that bore Christ. The dogwood was heartbroken. Christ cheered it promising it...would bear cross-shaped flowers with centers like a crown of thorns & petals with red marks pic.twitter.com/uZvw0YrDxg
Legend of the Anemone
— sgabig (@sgabig) February 23, 2021
The anemone is often seen in great paintings of the Crucifixion. The story is that these little flowers, on the night of the Crucifixion, sprang up all around the base of the Cross. On each of the petals was a red spot which symbolized the blood of Christ🩸 pic.twitter.com/bp3GszNT5c
Legend of the Easter Lily
— sgabig (@sgabig) February 23, 2021
Because the lily is one of the first flowers of spring, it is frequently associated with the Resurrection. The pure white petals signify His innocence. The gold anthers signify the divine light that encompasses the Risen Lordhttps://t.co/eSfCBZ4suR pic.twitter.com/A94txdrzGm
Legend of the Robin
— sgabig (@sgabig) February 23, 2021
On the way to Calvary, a robin saw a thorn had pierced the forehead of Christ, causing it to bleed. The bird flew down & pulled out the thorn. But as he did so, drops of blood fell on its breast, staining it red. pic.twitter.com/99lrAp45zv
Legend of the Donkey
— sgabig (@sgabig) February 23, 2021
The Castilian donkey has a dark patch of hair which goes the length of his back & another which crosses his shoulder. The reason for this...is that he was the animal Christ chose to ride when he made His triumphal entry into Jerusalem. pic.twitter.com/6BnoJSiqs3
